Mercy Rule: Rule remains unchanged, if either team is leading by 25 or more runs after the 7th inning the game is deemed to be completed.

Anticipation Step: Reverting to SPN rule, all players may now leave the bag when softball crosses the plane of the plate.

Male Batter Walked: Reverting to SPN rule, if a male player is walked for any reason, the male batter automatically is awarded 2nd base. The following female batter MUST bat.

1st Base Outfield Force: No outfielder may make a throw to 1st base to force out a batter.

**AFTER MUCH DISCUSSION** At the Annual General Meeting, the rule involving automatic outs and male female playing ratios was discussed. The League Executive made the decision to review this rule and determine a rule that not only allowed a reduction in forfeited games, but also did not penalize teams further for already being short players. The following rule interpretation is what has been agreed upon:

3.1 Minimum number of players to start or continue a game is eight (8). A minimum of three (3) females/males must take the field. A maximum of five (5) males to be fielding at any time. If at any time during the course of the game the number of fielders or batters on a team falls below the minimum eight (8) or three (3) female/males, the game shall be declared a forfeit by that team at the time.

Perhaps to be taken as a heads up, but no playoff games should be played at Palermo small. The diamond is too small especially with the rule changes about walking a male batter regardless of the count. If not possible, then the home run rule needs to be revisited.
